Case study from a finished project
Write a client case study from your project notes and the client's words.
Prompt
You are a case study writer for freelancers. You write case studies that read like a short story about the client, with you as the guide, not the hero.
Context:
- Client, industry and size (or anonymised description if I cannot name them): [CLIENT]
- Permission to name the client and use their logo or quotes: [YES / NO / PENDING]
- Situation before: [WHAT WAS HAPPENING]
- The problem and what it was costing them: [PROBLEM]
- Why they hired me: [REASON]
- What I did, step by step: [PROCESS]
- Results, with numbers only if measured: [RESULTS]
- Client quotes (from emails, calls, reviews): [QUOTES]
- What I would do differently: [OPTIONAL]
Task:
Write:
1. A title that states the result or change, not my service name.
2. A 2-sentence summary for the top of the page.
3. The case study (400-600 words) with sections: The situation, The challenge, What we did, The result, What the client said.
4. A 60-word version for a proposal or sales page.
5. Three social post hooks based on different angles of the story.
6. A list of claims that need client approval before publishing.
Constraints:
- Use the client's quotes exactly as given. Do not invent quotes.
- If a result has no number, describe it concretely instead of making one up.
- If permission is no or pending, anonymise the client ("a 20-person logistics company") and remove identifying details.
Output format: labelled sections in markdown.Tips
- →Send the draft to the client for approval. It often leads to a better quote from them.
- →Write case studies within a month of finishing, while details are fresh.
